l’Auguste quartet  of Alain Bédard – 9.30 – 10.45 pm – concert / Launch of the album «Exalta calma»

After having played « Circum Continuum » on several continents from 2016 to 2019, the Auguste quartet is back with a new opus that mixes the readings of time, contrasts and atmospheres, as well as sound climates. With « Exalta calma » the Auguste invites us to superimpose two antipodes that could suggest us, variable forces animating the interior of a painting, a person and/or even a sound. For 22 years, the Auguste quartet has been successfully travelling the world of jazz. Playing only its original music, it has evolved in more than 25 countries on 4 continents. l’Auguste has also set up multiple special projects creating countless unforgettable musical appointments with great international artists including : Donny McCaslin, Ted Nash, Stéphane Belmondo, Julien Loureau, Pierre de Bethmann, Sophie Alour, François Théberge, Pascal Shumacher, François Bourassa, André Leroux, to name but a few. Today, l’Auguste plays fresh, acoustic and significant music from the world of modern jazz, guided by accomplices Mario Allard or Samuel Blais (as, ss), Félix Stussi (pn), Alain Bédard (bs), Michel Lambert (drs) open to research and musical innovation in all its forms.
